About Carson Lee
Baseball has always been more than just a game for me—it's been a lifelong journey of growth, discipline, and opportunity. My name is Carson Lee, and I’ve dedicated my life to playing, studying, and now teaching the game at the highest level.
My playing career began in college, where I first suited up at North Lake Junior College, after redshirting at Tyler Junior College, and eventually played at Prairie View A&M University. Each stop in my college journey shaped me—challenging me to compete harder, think deeper, and prepare more intentionally. I didn’t have the easiest or most straightforward path, but those years taught me resilience and the value of working relentlessly for what you want.
After college, I pursued my dream of playing professional baseball. I spent five years in independent ball, traveling across the country and playing the game I love at a high level. During those seasons, I had the chance to learn the game from experienced coaches and former MLB players—mentors who helped shape my understanding of baseball beyond the physical mechanics. It was in those dugouts and bus rides, in small towns and packed stadiums, that I developed a deeper appreciation for the strategy, mental toughness, and leadership it takes to compete professionally.
In 2021, I took everything I had learned and poured it into founding OPA JAYS Baseball Academy. What started as a small vision has grown into a thriving organization of over 200 players, ranging from 9U to high school. One Percent Academy stands for committing to the drive to get one percent better every day—core values that drive our culture and separate us from the rest. We're not just building baseball players—we're developing well-rounded young men who understand the game and how to approach life with the same discipline and character.
In just our first two recruiting classes, we’ve helped more than 20 players commit to play college baseball—a testament to our development-first approach and our commitment to guiding athletes through every step of the recruiting process.
In 2024, I accepted the role of Head Baseball Coach at Northland Christian School. In my first year, our team made a historic run, finishing as Texas State Championship Runner-Up. It was an incredible honor and a proud moment—not just because of the result, but because of the way our players carried themselves and the culture we built together.
My Coaching Philosophy
I believe in building players from the ground up. That means teaching the fundamentals at a high level, helping athletes understand the why behind everything they do, and preparing them mentally to compete with confidence. Talent alone isn't enough. Baseball is a game of adjustments, and the best players are the ones who combine skill with IQ, heart, and work ethic.
My approach is simple: Teach it right. Teach it deep. Teach it with purpose. Every player I train learns how to play the game the right way—with attention to detail, respect for the process, and a mindset focused on growth. Whether you're a 9-year-old learning the basics or a high school athlete chasing a college scholarship, I tailor my instruction to fit your goals and your journey.
Above all, I coach with passion. I care deeply about every player who walks through our doors, and I’m fully invested in helping them reach their potential—not just in baseball, but in life.
If you’re looking for a place where you’ll be challenged, supported, and prepared to succeed at the next level, then welcome to my site. Let’s get to work.
