A Long Time Coming…

I’ve been telling myself for a long time that I not only wanted to create my own personal site, but also start a blog to share my thoughts.
The time is finally here.

I often feel the urge to speak on the current state of baseball—whether it’s youth, high school, or college. Good or bad, I see things online that spark thoughts, and I’ve realized this blog is the space to put them.
I look back on the career I was fortunate to have, and now, through my coaching lens, I see just how rare and valuable those opportunities were.
Over time, I’ve gained a deep understanding of the game—one that I believe gives weight to my words. For over 25 years, I’ve been a student of baseball. From the time I was a kid, all I ever wanted to do was be a baseball player—at any level. I chased that dream and squeezed every ounce of talent and opportunity out of what I was given.
Along the way, I absorbed a wealth of knowledge and experience. I always say I was lucky—I grew up with access to Big League information because of my dad. His network of players, coaches, and scouts gave me an inside look at the game from a young age. I was constantly around professionals.
Just like someone goes to school for years to become a doctor, accountant, or engineer, I got my education through the game itself. My degree came from the School of Baseball.
Now, post-playing career, as a coach, I’ve realized how much I have to give back. And I’ve also seen how much fluff and eyewash is out there being taught to today’s players.
As a ballplayer, you’re taught to leave the game better than you found it. That’s my mission now—to teach what helped me succeed at high levels, and to pass on the wisdom I gained from those who’d been even farther than I have.
Enter: My thoughts on the current state of baseball.
That’s the purpose of this blog.
And my knowledge and teaching? That’s the purpose of this website.
To give you one place where you can connect with me—and learn from me.
A quick warning…
I’m going to be blunt. I’m going to be honest. I won’t sugarcoat my thoughts. You may not always agree with me, and that’s okay. But know this—everything I share comes from a place of wanting the game to be better, and from wanting players to be taught at a higher level—built from the experiences I’ve had on my journey.
My goal is simple: for every ballplayer to have the opportunity to maximize their career and their experience in the same way I had the chance to.
Baseball gave me everything I could’ve asked for.
Welcome along for the ride.
